A funny thing happened。。。

Unlike most men of his acquaintance, Gregory Bridgerton believes in true love。 And he is convinced that when he finds the woman of his dreams, he will know in an instant that she is the one。 And that is exactly what happened。 Except。。。

She wasn't the one。 In fact, the ravishing Miss Hermione Watson is in love with another。 But her best friend, the ever-practical Lady Lucinda Abernathy, wants to save Hermione from a disastrous alliance, so she offers to help Gregory win her over。 But in the process, Lucy falls in love。 With Gregory! Except。。。

Lucy is engaged。 And her uncle is not inclined to let her back out of the betrothal, even once Gregory comes to his senses and realizes that it is Lucy, with her sharp wit and sunny smile, who makes his heart sing。 And now, on the way to the wedding, Gregory must risk everything to ensure that when it comes time to kiss the bride, he is the only man standing at the altar。。。

IM DONE!! This book was definitely not the worst in the series, but I feel slightly too far removed from my reading of the other 7 to be able to place it in the line up。 I'd probably rank it 4th or 5th tho, pretty middle of the road。 Didn't have any huge dislikes here, plot got kinda wack towards the end, I thought it was gonna take a super dark turn which really surprised me。 In conclusion, just watch the show, it's a lot better than the books, but maybe read #2 if you really want cause ~enemie IM DONE!! Solid end to the series This was the most dramatic of the series — and that’s after Colin’s balcony speech。 I enjoyed it, even though Gregory’s obliviousness was 。。。 puzzling to me。 On an emotional level。 Would recommend for a fan of the Bridgertons, to wrap this series with a bow。

This last book was slow to get into but ended well。

I love all these books (except for Benedict’s story!)。 I’m so sad that I finished reading all of them!! It’s just light reading and a great distraction from all the negativity。 The author does a beautiful job of weaving in characters throughout the whole series。 I really feel like I know them all。 Love love love。

This got a little monotonous and sappy。。。 more so than any of the others。 Gregory is pretty boring as the 4th son so he really doesn't do much or have much purpose。 So to say his purpose is to love this one woman??? Ugh。 But I liked Lucy and thought her quite delightful。 This got a little monotonous and sappy。。。 more so than any of the others。 Gregory is pretty boring as the 4th son so he really doesn't do much or have much purpose。 So to say his purpose is to love this one woman??? 。。。more

O this book might just be my favorite。 It had romance, intrigue, mystery, and blackmail。 And finding out the difference between infatuation and love。 It is my opinion after reading this book that the former belongs to the eyes and the latter to the soul。Read it and let me know。

Had a few book detours, but I’ve finally finished the series! (I think there’s one short story I’m missing, to be fair, but I don’t know that I’m going to chase that down。) This one was a solid conclusion to the series。 Summary: Gregory believes in the power of love after watching his seven siblings find marital bliss。 When he sees Hermione at his brother’s party, he knows instantly that she’s the one。 He enlists the help of her best friend, Lucy, in trying to woo her but finds himself inexplica Had a few book detours, but I’ve finally finished the series! Seriously? It was a wildly distracting Harry Potter reference, and I didn’t like it。 It took me out of the world of Bridgerton, and if the show ever gets to this part of the series, I hope they change her name。 Otherwise, this was generally good fun。 Above the Colin/Eloise books but probably around the Daphne level。 。。。more

Gregory was another bridgerton who we didn’t know a bunch about before his book, but thankfully we do get to know more about him and damn this story is action packed。 With only one love scene! The horror!

Book 88 towards my goal of 285! 5/5 stars for this Regency Romance read! Such a great ending to the Bridgerton series。 I had so much fun with this family! Gregory is no different <3 Absolutely loved his love interest, and they had a great storyline! Cannot recommend this series enough!

One of the best in the whole series。 Plenty of interaction with the Bridgerton clan, which is what I enjoy most in these books, especially Hyacinth of course, but also Kate, Anthony, Colin and Violet。 Most original story line too of falling for the wrong person, blackmail and interrupting a wedding (not a spoiler as it’s the first chapter!)。 My dislike was overusing “I love you。” I was reminded of the scene in Singing in the Rain when Gene Kelley’s character says it over and over again and the a One of the best in the whole series。 Plenty of interaction with the Bridgerton clan, which is what I enjoy most in these books, especially Hyacinth of course, but also Kate, Anthony, Colin and Violet。 Most original story line too of falling for the wrong person, blackmail and interrupting a wedding (not a spoiler as it’s the first chapter!)。 My dislike was overusing “I love you。” I was reminded of the scene in Singing in the Rain when Gene Kelley’s character says it over and over again and the audience at the advance viewing mocks him for it。 Also, Lucinda is an awful name to be paired with Gregory。 Should have just stuck with Lucy。 Overall a very enjoyable series of Regency Romances。 Quinn is a great storyteller。 Her books have humor and are delightful to read。 。。。more

Loved the beginning but started to lose me fast。 Far too much internal dialogue that seemed to try to take the place of true plot & drama。 Very troublesome events at the end that ruined the book for me。 Gregory makes several terrible decisions that are poorly justified & were completely inappropriate。 Which isn’t very Bridgerton-ish。

Ok, long and drawn out。 Least favorite of the series。

The final very funny and sweet novel with the last Bridgerton clan member, Gregory and his quite scandalous romantic situation! This novel was similar to the last where it felt different than the other novels and felt more like a mystery type situation, however, still QUITE enjoyable and I have LOVED this series!!!

OMGoodness。。。。。 I need tissues 😢😢😭😭😭😭I have never read a book(s) that included 2nd epilogues before。 Julia Quinn leaves you with a happy heart for a book ending and then in the 2nd epilogue grabs your heart, squeezes it and then makes you cry crocodile tears。 This was the last book in the Bridgerton series and I am truly going to miss this family。 I loved this series and listened to the audiobook of all eight and Rosalyn Landor was a phenomenal narrator! I really liked how each book focused on a different sibling, with the family members still playing supporting roles。 She did all the voices and her tone was perfect。 This book was about Gregory the seventh of eight siblings。 He’s the last to find love and get married。 I’m looking forward to seeing how the Netflix series plays out。 The first season matched the first book in that it was Daphne’s story。 Book two was Anthony’s, and the second season is to be his story and so on。 I don’t think I’ve ever read regency romance before, but if it’s all written like this with humor, deep love, romance, passion, strong family ties and a bit of drama, I’m a big fan now。 I will definitely read more of Julia Quinn’s books。 。。。more

I’m so glad I’m done with this series of recycled cliches and sex scenes。 The only thing that would tempt me back into this world would be running a detailed analysis on how many phrases, keywords, and pieces of dialogue the author used in each of the eight books, because I honestly couldn’t tell you one story that stood out from the others。 They were the same mediocrity each time。
